"Doc" Steel, Physician and Surgeon, arrived in Burns Lake about 1925. He practiced medicine in the area operating out of the hospital at Francois Lake. His wife, Helen, worked as a nurse during their time in Burns Lake. He purchased a building an had his doctor's office in the back and a drug store in front. They left Burns Lake for Giscome, BC around 1930.
