My Sandercock/Sandercott family history websites no longer appear online for privacy reasons. However, I'm still busy working on genealogy and extending our tree as much as possible.

I have also spent the last several years tracing all Sandercock family lines from all over the world back to common ancestry in Cornwall, England. One does not realize just how spread out the original Sandercock Family has become untill researching the name globally. Most migrations were to Canada, United States & the South Pacific but the name may be found in many of the British Colonies. It has been a long and tedious process but a great way to pass the long winter months here in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

As always I'm happy to compare notes and help other researchers in any way I can.

Some of the Migrations.

England    John Sandercock(1858-1922) - John was born in Cornwall, England. A widow at the time, John left Devonshire, England and arrived in Quebec aboard the 'Circassian' on 7 May 1883. His destination was Ontario and worked for a while in Exeter and Dashwood areas. In 1889, John, his wife Barbara Sachs(1859-1945), and their two children moved west into the Clearwater area of Manitoba where they purchased a 480 acre farm.

Part way through raising their family in Ayrshire, George traveled to Canada, arriving in St John, New Brunswick, aboard the "Cassandra" on 30 April 1912 with a friend to "look around". The friend went on west while George worked in St. Marys, Ontario for a while. He had decided to return to Scotland when he received word that his wife Margaret Paton((1881-1934) had sold out and would be arriving with their three children. The family arrived aboard the "Saturnia" in Montreal, Quebec, on 12 August 1912. They settled in St Marys, later moving to London, Ontario.
